Having slashed its conveyancing panel from thousands of conveyancing firms to just over forty firms, HSBC, via Countrywide, says it has an "objective set of eligibility criteria" for panel selection. If that is the case that criteria should be revealed. From what I can glean, it does not include being a good professional conveyancing law firm, let alone one who has held its client account with HSBC for many, many years. There is no loyalty to the firms who have supported HSBC for years, nor to the legal profession generally.
